Project Description:

NetCity was retained by the City of Tampa's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Information Technology Services (ITS) to prepare a comprehensive telecommunications strategic plan for the City of Tampa. The plan encompassed evaluating the business needs of each department for emerging technology and services, preparing a financial plan to allow the City to fund telecommunications investments, an analysis of regional collaborative opportunities, evaluation of the City's need for a Wi-Fi policy, and recommendations on an organizational structure for telecommunications management. NetCity was also asked to evaluate the potential for VoIP in Tampa using the City's existing switches and fiber optic infrastructure.
